Physical therapyTo build muscle strength, physiotherapy is recommended. It is recommended this intervention occur during the early years to build coordination and motor skills.

Occupational therapyThe support of an occupational therapist is recommended to build mobility skills and support self-care. As with other therapies, early invention is recommended.

AudiologyWhile the incidence of hearing problems associated with DWS is low, young children should be tested. Testing results may indicate whether a hearing support or further intervention is required.

OphthalmologyAs with hearing problems, the incidence of vision problems with DWS is relatively low. However, it is recommended that, when age-appropriate, vision is tested in order to determine whether supports, such as corrective eye wear, or educational accommodations are appropriate.

NeuropsychologyIdeally, individuals with DWS should undergo comprehensive neuropsychological testing at a young age. Such testing would, in future, support measuring progress and, additionally, may indicate whether special education programming is appropriate.
